We are Steve Russell and Giles Atwell - two entrepreneurs who LOVE chocolate.

After thirty years working on world-famous chocolate brands (and Giles has a 100 year family history in chocolate too), we set about trying to create our own ridiculously good chocolates back at the end of 2019.

We started with a question:

 If everything tastes better fresh, why are people still eating long-life chocolate?

After hundreds of prototypes made and tasted in our kitchens and with friends & family across the country, Russell & Atwell was born. 

We weren't surprised to discover that the fresh chocolates tasted a whole lot better than any other recipes. After all, why wouldn't a product made with organic fresh cream and stored in the fridge for a few weeks, taste better than  another product made with palm oil that sits on a supermarket shelf for a year?

We like to say that Russell & Atwell brings you the “true” flavour of chocolate.

Organic fresh cream instead of palm oil. Wild honey instead of preservatives. We make sure that everything we put in our chocolates is high quality, sustainable and delicious; that is the secret to their unbeatably rich taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Once we'd found the perfect recipe for smooth and moreish chocolates, we had a business to build.

In less than 18 months, we've gone from Kickstarter to Dragon's Den and can now be found in delis and independent shops around the country. You can even subscribe to our chocolates now, saving you money and making sure you never run low on chocolate.

The wonderful thing about starting our own business has been the opportunity to prioritise the things that are important to us. We strive to be eco-friendly in every decision we make - from the big ones like using no palm oil and sustainable cocoa, to everyday choices like using paper bubble wrap instead of plastic. Our glass jars and eco-refills are part of that.
