"It's like a posh fresh Rolo" - so Steve, our resident chocolate scientist described this latest Micro-batch.

Micro-batches are where we experiment with new flavours – we usually lose money on them, but it’s a great way of testing new ideas with our consumers to see if they would like us to make a bigger batch!

Imagine if a Rolo put on its fanciest clobber and strolled the Dorset coast at sunset—that’s the sensation in every bite of our New Butter Toffee Micro-Batch.

Rich, delicately soft golden toffee (properly buttery, none of your palm-oil nonsense) with a wisp of Oak Smoked Dorset Sea Salt., capturing the essence of old-fashioned sweet shop nostalgia and the tiniest waft of warming smoked oak, all in one blissful bite. 

It’s a taste that’s equal parts posh and playful, but here’s the catch: we’ve only hand-made 100 or so exclusive pouches of this delicious decadence; so if your palate’s twitching with curiosity, now’s the time to snap one up before they vanish like a Dorset sunset. 

We recommend you eat these fridge-cold, so your teeth sink slowly into the buttery texture. If you like your toffee chewier - you can even pop them into the freezer - the longer you leave them, the chewier they will get - for an ice-creamy sensation!

 

We've been working with Dorset Sea Salt since launch, putting a pinch of their salt in our chocolates to help bring out the flavour and as a great natural preservative. Their hand-harvested salt is produced using seawater from the clean, mineral-rich, UNESCO protected Chesil Beach on the Jurassic coastline. They use a small-batch process, triple-filtering the seawater, then gently evaporating it using renewable energy sources (biomass, wind, solar) and hand-harvesting the resulting flakes at their optimal moment. This delivers soft, delicate crystalline flakes that provide a clean, punchy & fresh flavour sought-after and used by many chefs to enhance both savoury and sweet dishes.

We're using a tiny pinch of Dorset Oak-Smoked Sea Salt in the Butter Toffee - to bring a little depth and personality to the toffee flavour. Delicious!

Steve has managed to hand-make over a hundred pouches this time. Supply is limited – we recommend setting your alarm as they usually run-out quickly! We'll even write the name of the receiver on each pouch!

Tasting Notes

Creamy Milk: Our signature milk chocolates have a deliciously creamy centre made with rich milk chocolate and a hint of caramel. They taste great on their own, but we particularly enjoy them with a cup of builder's tea.

Butter Toffee Micro Batch: Crack into the rich milk chocolate shell and sink into the soft, buttery toffee centre, crafted with organic fresh butter, double cream, rich golden syrup and a delicate pinch of oak-smoked Dorset Sea Salt. We recommend eating these straight from the fridge.

Smooth Dark: Bite into the hand-finished 70% dark chocolate shell to experience the slow-melting creamy, rich dark chocolate centre with a drop of honey. These taste great eaten solo, but they also go well with a decent cup of coffee, or a lovely glass of red wine.
